Downloads Walker Walker is our new walkcycle generator for Messiah:Studio. It scales to fit any biped character. You can use any character rig but it is advisable to use AutoRig v.2 with it because the setup time is greatly reduced compared to when using custom rigs. AutoRig v.2 will be included in the next patch of messiah and is also included when you purchase Walker. Walker should be used with version 3.0 of messiah and upwards. You can buy Walker & AutoRig together for $100 by clicking the button on the right. -Click here to see a feature overview -Silent usage demonstration -Walker Tutorial # 1 -Walker Tutorial # 2 -Creating Walks tutorial Autorig AutoRig is scheduled for inclusion with Messiah 3.1. We wish to thank all our customers who helped fund further development at useful slug by offering a 50% discount on our upcoming product, Walker. Walker is due to be released by the end of July 2008. Take a look at how to use the autorigger: -Autorigger tutorial -Rigging a quadruped -Image with description of controls Trail THere's a little function that will allow you to have an object 'trail' after the target object. Essentially following it's world motion path, but with a time delay. To install it, just copy it into your plugins directory and launch messiah. Download this plugin free of charge here KeyFaderBranch This plugin for messiah will perform the KeyFader expression on a hierarchy extending from the selected root object To install it, just copy it into your plugins directory and launch messiah. Download this plugin free of charge here Character-switcher-offer This is a little script we made for messiah:studio to help out with scenes with multiple characters that can slow down the interface a little. This script enables you to make an armature handle that turns off subdivision, turns off the bone deform effect and hides the character geometry, or brings it all back at the click of a button. Exctract the zip to your messiah directory. To set it up:
Import weights Import weights will import weightmap data to Messiah:Studio from an ascii file. There's an included weightmap exporter script for lightwave. Also included is a test ascii file and instructions in the readme on how to create them if you want to export weights from another program. Download Import Weights free of charge here Geometry Smoother This is a little plugin that performs a smoothing operation on your mesh without adding geometry. This is useful for instance to approximate what subdivision will do to your object while you're animating without having to add geometry (and thusly achieving higher viewport speeds). It could also be used to smooth out background characters again without adding geometry but maintaining reasonable results. Usage: Put the .mp in your messiah\plugins directory. Add the Smooth effect to your object in Setup mode. Setting of 1 and 1 will smooth quite close to normal subdivision. The last field is for choosing a weight for the smoothing. Download this plugin free of charge here CreateBetterKey This plugin can be run from scripts, the command line or an armature to create a key with more control over what type of key it should be. Whereas the normal CreateKey function only gives you the option to select which object and frame the key should be created at, for instance CreateKey(CurObj,NOW) , this plugin allows you to set options such as which curve type the key should have and whether or not the new key should use the computed value. Format: CreateBetterKey(object, frame, channel, curvetype, computed) Channel is the number of the channel starting from 0 for xpos, 1 for ypos etc. The curvetype is set by using the order they are listed under spline->curve in animate mode starting count on 0. Computed keytype is 1 and normal key is 0. So if you want to create a stepped key for the selected object on pitch at the current frame using computed values, the expression would be: CreateBetterKey(CurObj,NOW,4,3,1) This plugin is among other things useful for creating instant IK/FK switching scripts. Usage: Put the .mp in your messiah\plugins directory. Run the function from a script, an armature or the command line Download this plugin free of charge here |
